All ready getting things set for next year on the Met.

Was up on the Metolious this last week, (and the fishing was great). Any way Roger came over to my camp and we kicked around some ideas to make it even better. One is we got the day use area at our camp site (next to host) right next to the bridge so we will have more parking (and more food). We are starting to contact more vender's, and trying to get more builders to show up. Even if you know 2 or 3 that would like to share a booth. Any ideas you might have, what you might want to see, etc.

Dave: You might want to start hammering on the Colorado rodmakers. It would make travelling easier for them to get together and carpool and/or fly/rent a car. The CCC is growing quite a bit, and people might be interested in hitting different audiences at different shows... Just a thought.

Since the Day Use area is away from the schoolgrounds would that open up an opportunity for some sponsorship from a microbrewery? Another possible fundraising option could be if some one-on-one casting instruction was offered for a donation to CFR or a local environmental group working on preserving the river and watershed.

An activity for the kids might be to do free facepainting using trout colors. Would be a gas to see little schools of rainbows, cutties and such running around.
The rods you guys are making today would cause Hiram, Edwards and the Paynes as well as Fred Devine to crap their pants then giggle like boys peeking into the girls' locker room as they strung them up and laid out the first casts.

I can talk with the Oskar Blues Brewery (www.oskarblues.com) and see if they can do something. They have been interested in getting in to the fly-fishing marketplace and sponsoring events. Free beer is deffinitely a possibility.
