The article that you did on Channer would be good for the next issue, your call.

He is a member here, PM him, I will bet you a six pack that he is more than happy to have the article.
eh.
I don't care about that stuff.
submit it if you'd like and buy me a six pack.

I smell like bamboo.
and booze.

Hi Todd...
Funny you should pop in...LOL
I was trying to show a couple/few of the photos of the leather grip thing.
No big though...deeze guyes can wait another week. Steve is wanting to make one and is using a thicker leather apparently. The guy who wrote the article seems to be using a thinner "jacket" leather.
This should simply reinforce the need to keep a step ahead of the competition by buying a subscription!

Mike Brooks and Steve Kiley developed an impregnation chamber and "flavor" process some years ago.

I think some of the residue of an early failed attempt is still on the walls, ceiling, floor and accoutrements of Steve's shop. :?

I wonder if this one is like theirs?

Steve?

Have I ever mentioned Steve is quick on his feet and ducks better than ...

Hmmm...might be!

Since neither Steve or Shoes has the pics, we'll have to wait until the 25th to find out! LOL
This is essentially a copper pipe with a valve and pressure fittings. It's a quite nice contraption though and was written about a while back on the rodbuilding board. The pics are probably still there as well if you want to dig them up.

Good to hear from you again Joe!

Todd, one from me, I'll send you the final when you are ready and one from Aguafria, you can lift that one straight from the forum.

I know you guys need to keep playing, but every time others have used impregnated rods, they killed the action of the boo or made them heavy.
IMHO
As for leather grips they should stay on K-Bars.

That reminds me, I gotta get one of those K-bar knives...

Dave, I have owned and operated exactly one impregnated rod, my Shooting Star and I will say that the loading / unloading of this rod was different, searching for a word to describe the feeling??? dampened? that's all I can find. But that is a one sided statement as I have only cast a couple of non-impreg rods of that line weight for comparison.

I would say that your observation/opinion is based on experience and I'm happy to read it. Not enough people are willing to write what they feel, I'm glad to see you are.

come on Dave...you KNOW we gotta play!

I will say I mostly don't like impregnated rods but still, making a gadget is always fun. I do own one impregnated rod which is quite pleasant. A 7 foot for a 4 Leonard Duracane which I think is on a Sharps blank
