Click it!

Yesterday almost 14,000 clicks. The exchange rate is in their favor now. One click buys 4 sq decimeters!

PS thing...I think I read somewhere on the site that the deadline is sometime in March.

Skogen deadline = 3/19/09 per Mats. Wonder how close they are getting to making the purchase price?

Ken
The rods you guys are making today would cause Hiram, Edwards and the Paynes as well as Fred Devine to crap their pants then giggle like boys peeking into the girls' locker room as they strung them up and laid out the first casts.

Always clicking Mats.

Can you tell us about the tree?

What does it cost?

Do you know the area where the trees are?

Adam.

For me, it´s just all about bringing something to the table to help these guys, Ann Rask and Jenny Strand and the foundation to raise the funds. I don´t really get to own the trees, just a certifacate for each tree that I "bought" them, like a reciept, but that´s allright for me. I´ll be proud to hang them certificates on the wall, knowing I did something... Heck, I just sold three nice fly reels...

A birch is 50.00 SEK (about 6.25 USD) and a Pine will be 200.00 SEK ( 25.00 USD)

Just click on the link -click here- just on the right from the button you click every day and you´ll end up on the "buy a tree" page.

If you click around some on the site you will find that one old growth forest already have been purchased by the foundation, Årrenjarka, of 140 acres. This forrest is located up north where the prices per acre is lower than for the Verle forest (160 acers) as Verle is located in a higher poulated area.

A click now buys 5 sq decimeters. 7,000 plus clicks buys 35,000 sq decimeters. 35,000!
This is (I'm sure) due to the generosity of the advertisers buying bigger ads.

You can buy a square and help get it done. I should say...I can't buy a square but I would if I could.
A square really isn't that much in the big scheme of things but it does cost you over a hundred bucks. What if we set up a PP thing here, save up and donated?

I think from the looks of it that a little over half the forest has been "purchased." I really don't know if it actually has been. But with just over two months to go, it doesn't look like they are going to make it with our clicks alone.
Your free click ( which doesn't cost you a dime) is equal to 6 or 7 cents.

I'd REALLY like to see a square with Grassarts name on it. Maybe three or four squares! Hell...I'd like to see one with Kiley's name on it, my name or a dozen other rodmakers.
Let those folks know that there are folks a world away that care about 160 acres of woods in a far off place, because it matters to you!

If they can't come up with the total in two months, I have NO idea what their plans are, but maybe they have a reserve they can draw on, maybe they can renegotiate. I have to think that whoever now owns the woods cares or they wouldn't have done this much.
160 acres isn't a lot of land, but if what we do keeps roads and subdivisions from going on it it is only a good thing for us all. Most of us (me) will never get to walk through those woods, but they could be there for your grandkids to walk through someday.

That´s wonderful, Adam!
I hope you´re going to feel good every time you look at that certificate.

Thanks!

Count me in on a group purchase donation, each as he(or she)(Hey, why aren't there any women here, Adam?) can afford. A Grassart section would be great, especially if it is waterfront. :D

Donation logistics? Mats, do you feel like playing banker? Paypal would work for me but so would a check posted in the snail mail. I agree 100% with Mike's thoughts on the subject.

Let´s see if anyone else would like to join.

A square is too small for a banner on the map ( http://ettklickforskogen.se/index.php?lang=english ) so it´ll be a name we have to put in there. A square will be 2 555.60 SEK

Another thing is to donate 1000.00 SEK and get an engraved nameplate on the noticeboard at the entrance ov Verle´s old growth forest http://ettklickforskogen.se/index.php?p ... &Itemid=30

As for sending money to me, it will not be necessary as you can make payment through credit cards it seems. Shouldn´t be too difficult for them to arrange the purchase from one part of the payment came from overseas and my part came from here...
PayPal to me wouldn´t be too good idea due to the poor currency coversion rates they have (USD to SEK or EUR and even SEK to EUR) and it will cost me a fee to make a withdrawal from PayPal to my bank account. Not to spek of the standard PayPal fees.

We need to talk this over if we´re going to do it.

What do you say? As for myself, I´ve already been thinking of a square for me and Stefan named "Scandinavian Split Cane", but I´m still in if there was to be a "Grassart" square also. Or a name plate...
